HorseAbility is a specialized summer program that provides school-aged children who have special needs with unique equine experiences. It’s made possible by a partnership between Central Kentucky Riding for Hope (CKRH) and Easterseals Bluegrass.
Post Kindergarten to 21 years
Monday – Friday, 8AM–5PM
Is to create a safe environment where every child receives love, security, acceptance, independence and guidance while fostering an excitement for learning.
Addresses the individual social, emotional, physical and mental needs of each child to help them reach their potential.
Are designed to give children opportunities for success and to help them develop a positive self-image.
Outdoor activities with horses are a fundamental base from which we design daily activities that the entire group can participate in.
All activities are considered learning opportunities including caring for one’s self and the facility, and interacting with horses, adults, and other children.
The program fosters the disposition and skills necessary for childrens’ success in life including school and community participation.
Staff members attend to the needs of each child and participate in ongoing training provided by state and local agencies, as well as professional in-services.
